We have as much or more "first chair" trial experience in this kind of litigation than any firm in the state, extending back more than twenty years to the very infancy of "toxic torts." Some of our early experiences included successfully defending local chemical companies against personal injury claims brought in our local district courts in the aftermath of accidental releases of toxic gases. We also successfully defended a claim against a manufacturer of the pertussis vaccine for allegedly causing a stroke in a child who received a DTP vaccination. As the word of our successes spread, we were asked to become lead counsel in statewide litigation involving claims of personal injuries, including various cancers, from exposure to asbestos and benzene. In the asbestos litigation, we were lead counsel in five wrongful death cases, where the decedent died from lung cancer and/or mesothelioma. In each instance, we secured a "zero" verdict.
